Amihan lives in Culion, a island in Phillipines. Her mother is one of the island's many residents infected with leprosy. Culion contains all that Ami loves and wants.But then the government declares that all the children are to be separated from their homes and families and will be taken to live in an orphanage on a nearby island.
There in the new island,Ami meets a girl named after the butterflies and the two become good friends.
Soon,sad news reaches Ami,and she and her friend find a way to get back to Culion.

"The Island At The End Of Everything"is a fairly enjoyable read by Kiran Millwood Hargrave,the author of "The Girl of Ink and Stars".The story tackles with a lot of tender issues like illness,trust,friendship,death and the way people who are different are treated.
The book is beautifully written smooth flowing plot with some occasionally notable prose.
