Percy Jackson was just a normal 12-year old. Well, he was dyslexic, had learning disabilites , got expelled out of school every year and somehow always found himself in trouble but things were actually good and normal.Then, he goes on a visit to the beach with his mother when his life changes forever.
He is taken to Camp Half- Blood, a place for demigods, safe from Monsters where he learns that he is the son of Poseidon, the God of the sea. He also finds out that Zeus' master blot has been stolen and that he is the main suspect of the theft.
To prove his innocence, Percy sets on a dangerous quest , across the US, with two of his mates - Grover Underwood, a satyr and Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena to prevent a cataclysmic war between the Gods.
"Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" is a fairly good book. Percy is quite a relatable character. The trio is truly amazing and all the characters are well-written and nicely introduced.
The book is action packed and has a lot of humour which makes it a fun read.
Although, for me, the plot was a bit predictable and it slowed down a bit halfway through.
We get to learn a lot about Greek Gods and mythology. The introduction of the Gods throughout the series is also really creative and exciting.
There are quite a few interesting scenes throughout the story and the characters are well-written. All in all, it is a good book.
