The first book of the Harry Potter series is unsuprisingly one of the best books ever written.
The story is about Harry Potter,an orphan who lives with the Dursleys - his aunt,uncle and cousin, since is parents were killed.He is subjugated to ill-treatment and is forced to sleep under the cupboard under the stairs.
Then,on his eleventh birthday, Harry gets his acceptance letter from Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry which leads him to the discovery of his true identity: He is a wizard.
Harry is the only survivor of the killing curse by Lord Voldemort,the greatest dark wizard of all time who is said to be seeking the philosopher's stone, a source of immortality and power, which is now hidden at Hogwarts.
Together with his two friends- Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, Harry embarks on the journey of his lifetime.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is a books which can be read and reread by readers multiple times.The story line is just beyond words. J.K.Rowling is truly a very talented writer who writes just as magically as her the worlds her books contain.Her writing takes you to places that are really fascinating.
The book deals on themes such as friendship, trust, power and love. I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy fantasy, adventure and mystery novels.
The characters introductions are well done. They are all very thoughtful and lovable. The setting of the story is rich and well thought.
