The bestselling Harry Potter series is a remarkable piece of fantasy-fiction that is enjoyed by people of all ages across the globe.
The plot of the stories is extremely well woven and there are many incredible characters in it, who contribute to the development to the story with their own unique personalities, flaws and backstories.
But the one character that stood out the most to me is – Hermione Granger, considered to be the brightest witch of her age.
She is not only beautiful but also exceptionally smart, hardworking, compassionate and determined. She is also very flawed, realistic and at times relatable and that makes her an ideal women to look upto.

In the beginning of the series, Hermione comes of as a bossy, know it all but her character develops naturally over the course of the book and she soon learns to use her intelligence for good. She is the brains behind the trio who tries to prevent things from going wrong and always helps her friends when they land themselves in trouble (which was very often).
She truly studied hard and really cared about her education and tried to be the best version of herself. She also looked out for those around her and tried to help them in every way possible. She also made sure her friends did well at school and had good grades.
Growing up in Hogwarts, Hermione was bullied for being nerdy and discriminated for being a muggle-born but she never employed violence when faced with bullying [expect for when she punched Draco in the face during their third year (it was really good punch, BTW)].

Hermione is a motivated young girl, driven by her ambition to perform well in academics and bring a positive change in the society.
“Are you planning to follow a career in Magical Law, Miss Granger?” asked Scrimgeour. “No, I’m not,” retorted Hermione. “I’m hoping to do some good in the world!”
—Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
She is a natural leader and she stands for what she believes in. She is against any sort of discrimination and thinks it is essential to question everything happening around her.

Despite being disliked by many around her, Hermione doesn’t change herself to fit in. She is portrayed as a girl with a no-nonsense attitude who isn’t afraid to break stereotypes and she handled whatever is thrown at her with dignity and good humour.
She is a very loyal friend and doesn’t leave her friends even during the darkest times. She leaves school, out of her own will, during their final year, to accompany Harry to fight against evil which potrays her true dedication towards their friendship.
“It would be quite nice if you stopped jumping down out throats, Harry, because in case you haven’t noticed, Ron and I are on your side.”
—Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Hermione might not be the main character of the series but she definitely a hero on her own. She is courageous, intelligent, kind, trustworthy and thoughtful. She has showcased bravery over and over again and has always been true and resolute. She is someone who we all know and admire and someone whose many of us aspire to follow.
Hermione Granger is loved and respected for being excellent at many great things and being a inspiration to many is definitely one of them.
